Partner information

Öckerö Kommun is situated at the sea, close to Gothenburg. There are ten inhabitated islands in the municipality, connected to the mainland with two ferry lines.

Marine activities have a significant part of trade and industry. Half of the Swedish fishing fleet’s homeports lie within a 20 km radius. The great numbers of fishing-vessels are the main source of establishment of shipyards, propeller-producers and other marine companies. In the last years has even wind energy become an interesting branch of business. The reason for this is the large number of full-wind hours, generated by the wide-open sea.
